About Douglas Fraser Smith
I began my photographic journey shortly after my brother received a Kodak Brownie Starflex camera as a birthday gift. I wanted one, too, but my parents thought I was too young to be capturing images on film. A tortured artist was born. Since then, the folks at Kodak, Canon and Sony have made a fortune while all I made was images (and, yes, a few dollars to fund the effort). I could go on about all the photography awards and honors I have received, but why? If you like any of these images, it won't be because I started early with my Brownie Starflex. They (my parents) never gave me one. It's true: they liked my brother best.
