Description

At a wildlife refuge near Portland, Oregon, you can drive around a large loop of road, pull off to the side anywhere, and peer at things. We humans are not allowed out of our cars, for the most part, on this loop. This kestrel had just launched from its perch on a sign reminding me to stay in my vehicle.
